Chilefarms, the farm owned and operated by Ricardo Ceriani and Susaan Straus
V Region
Nogales, Chile
Nogales is approximately 70 miles north of Santiago, in a fertile valley between the Pre-Cordillieros de los Andes to the east and the Coastal Range to the west. The Mediterranean-like climate is ideal for growing fruits, vegetables, and flowers.

Life on the farm is as busy as it gets today. Along with harvesting corn and blacksmithing Ricardo's rodeo horses, there was lots more activity.
A grass fire along the road near the farm destroyed 600 meters of phone and internet wire. Today, five days later, and three days after I arrive, service was restored to Chilefarms. The internet tech resets the cable box at the farm - we are online again!
Apricots have short season. Pick 'em from the tree near the farmhouse with Susaan and Voila! Apricot Crisp!
There are several other fruit bearing trees on the farm: lemon, walnut, quince, figs, clementines, apple, and avocado.

Too bad you can't smuggle some of this home. What do lemon blossoms smell like? You are SO FORTUNATE!
