Personally not in favor of a soulfull rendition of the National Anthem by a less powerful voice Aretha once possessed. My favorite will alway be by Whitney Houston.

Jeff,
I agree that Aretha's voice is no longer the powerful engine it once was. What got my attention was her piano technique, elegant, spare, soulful, that had such a gospel touch, felt right for the occasion.
