John Marshall

Here in Essex, MA, a new platform was put up this spring. I have seen a male and female together on the nest. However, the nest is small with only a few sticks visible. There is another much larger nest about one mile across the saltmarsh. I know that the pairs add to the nest each year increasing its size. Do you think the new smaller nest is being used by a young adult pair for the first time?
