Paul,

I got to see a tiny bit of Ecuador last month and it reminded me of your
Chilean visits. Supposedly, the country 2nd highest filled with US
retirees is Ecuador. Cost of living is cheap and their currency is the
US dollar. Not so good for them, sadly.
