A morning practice for the rodeo next week...
Gato and Juanito saddle up and ride to the practice area, a "media luna" Ricardro has built behind the farmhouse.
Ricardo takes the back way, Juanito brings the cow into the practice area.
The men spend an hour practicing. Notice how the horses are trained to ride sideways and keep their chests in contact with the cow. This horsemanship actually occurs on the open range when a cowboy wants to separate a single animal from the herd.
Horses are washed down after each day of practice.
